One of the shows I've come across a few years ago and adore is the show "Super Robot Monkey Team Hyperforce Go!". Robot monkey, giant robot, a skeleton villain voiced by Mark Hamill. I do warn for a ton of body horror in this show for those not into that.

That said, there are a few things I would had liked to seen in the shows run. ( besides what would have happened after the last episode. The way they ended the show was a cliffhanger and it was like nooooo! Where's the rest of it.)

- The team getting more down time moments. Time to time we'll see some characters at the arcade or something like that. But not very much.

- More Nova hanging out with Jinmay would had been nice (we do not count the Hills have Fives episode because that episode is... well ,not good.)

That's off the top of my head. Anyone else have things they would have liked to see happen or happen more in their old favorite shows?

Art mood

My mood for working on art has been pretty down for the last couple of months. Lots of different reasons why. But I am starting to feel a bit of my art mood coming back I think. Enough that I'm thinking of wips or new ideas I can work on.

Hopefully that sticks around.

If anyone saw my attempts to get a handle of dreamwidth cuts and formatting words... no you didn't. That said, I'm just going to share ao3 links for now on.

This one is to one of my cookie run kingdom drabble collections.

I got a few comfort shows I love to play in the back ground.

My top one is Bob's Burgers. I adore the humor, heart, and the characters in the show. There are so many good characters I can't even decide on a favorite.

I also love "The Great North." for those same reasons. Same folks created both shows I believe.

creative competition shows in general. Anything where folks are creating something like baking, sewing clothes, wood carving, pottery, make up effects, glass blowing, and general crafting for examples. I just love seeing what people can make. (not so much a fan of drama when there is so. I just think of this one guy in project runway who had a hearing aid and every time folks started to really argue in the work room he just turn off the hearing aid and I totally respect him for that and i would do the same thing if I were him. )

Finally, the show "Speechless". The show ended some time ago at three seasons (which, is a decent run.) . Main character is JJ, a teenager with cerebral palsy, using a wheel chair and one of those word boards. and it's about him and his family ( who, besides Ray (i'm not going to lie, the character Ray mostly sucks but he's often not framed as right. and yes, he does have good moments and in the end at least is a good sibling.) and just being. It's funny, the characters are fun, heartfelt in a lot of areas, and does talk about issues that disabled folks go through (the episode on inspiration porn for example is a good one.) . The last episode always makes me cry in a good way.

I like to keep track of how many fics (more like drabbles then long fics to be clear. ) I write per year just for fun. Last year I wrote 54 fics.

This year has started out slow writing wise (lots of stressful things these days happening part of the reason I'm sure.) . But eh, it's more a for fun thing rather then a try to out do my record thing.

In any case, the current count starting from January first is 11 fics.

2 for Gravity Falls

3 for Super Robot Monkey Team Hyperforce go!

1 Storm Hawks

5 for Cookie Run

Besides my current Cookie Run Addiction, there are three games coming out (one already out but becoming available on steam i think on the 29th.)

Infinity Nikki: I swear not all I play is gacha games ( not that I'm judging those who do. ) , but open world fashion related game sounds like fun.

Fantasy Life the girl who steals time: I played the first of these games on I think it was the 3ds so many years ago, and I adored that game. Cure characters designs, many jobs for a character and you don't have to choose just one. and the mini games with the crafting skills. Looking forward to this sequel.

Date Everything: I love a dating game or two. and the idea of humanized versions of everything in your house (and i think they are... at least a 100 characters. Not sure how true that is or if all characters are dateable. But it looks interesting. And lots of cool voice actors in this game.

I had played a bit of Cookie Run Kingdom in the past but deleted it off my phone as not much for playing games on my phone. However, a mix of what I was learning about the character Shadow Milk cookie and finding out that I can not play the game on pc has gotten me back in the game.

I've been playing a lot.

One of the funniest things to me in Cookie Run is when your team has a cookie in it that appears in the plot. Just a Strawberry Crepe cookie in my group and there she is on the other side.

At that point I often like to say "Well, one of us will have to change."

I'm hoping to get Shadow Milk at some point. Some day.

I'm happy with whatever. Gen, fluff, angst, mature rated. Whatever is written/drawn for me I'm sure to love it.

Do not wants: Character death mainly. Extreme gore.

General wants: Holidays, going to fun family events, masquerade balls, baking related, arts and crafts, monsters, mythology.

Mature wants: Bondage, master/pet

Super Robot Monkey Team Hyperforce Go!

Favorite characters: Otto, Gibson, Antauri, Mandarin

Ships:

Otto/Gibson: I love them as a sweet couple. Both of them smart in their own ways

Antauri/Mandarin: The angst/toxic pairing for this fandom. One sided "i once loved you." on Antauri's side angst.

Gravity Falls

Favorite characters: Bill, Ford, Mabel, Stan, Dipper, Wendy.

Bill/Ford. Mostly like it in a one sided, toxic way. I'm very open for anything dark. Monster, more human, triangle for Bill. Any form is good.

Fiddleford/Stan: Either they get together in early after Ford went through the portal age, or later as old men. Either way I like them being supportive/soft with each other.

Sing

For Sing my favorite characters are Buster, Nooshy, Jimmy, Ash.

Ships

Buster/Jimmy: Again, dark and one sided. Jimmy very much using position to have power of Buster.

musekicker: (Default)

It is that time of year again! Time for yuletide and time for another yuletide letter. I'll get right to the details.

General DNWS: extreme gore (especially involving eye horror) character death, underage, or incest.

Stuff I love: Fluff, humor. Holidays or fun events characters going to. Getting pets. Games.

For characters in each fandom I chose any of the available in the tags. So use which ever one of the characters you wish. ( I will mention if I have particular ships. But you don't have to write that ship at all if not feeling it.)

The Great North

I love this family and just adore their family shenanigans. Maybe something with fat bear week again, but betting between family members gets out of control. Or Ham making a special bear themed cake for fat bear week? (( doesn't have to be fat bear week by the way. Only suggestions coming to mind right now. ))

Drak Pack

I ship Howler/Drak/Frankie together. As always, don't have to write the pairing I like.

The show never really goes into hobbies that the trio has. Maybe something on hobbies?

Loonatics Unleashed

My main ship for this fandom tends to be Rev/Tech.

A idea is characters having a movie night (Tech strikes me as the guy who goes "That can't happen!" during a movie. )

Super Robot Monkey Team Hyperforce Go!

Love Otto/Gibson as a pairing.

The monkey team almost never have down time in this show. I would like to see something where they just get to hang out without villain attack.

musekicker: (Default)

Tis the season of pumpkins, bats, ghosts, and much more again. I'll get right to it then.

General do not wants: Character death, gore, more so eye horror.

Things I love: world building, holidays, parties, vacations, characters getting a pet.

Fandom specific, more like suggestions then anything anyone has to stick hard to.

Super Robot Monkey Team Hyperforce go! : I do have this thought of the monkey team telling various stories about Mandarin before he went power mad. Maybe a bit bittersweet as there were some nice memories in there too.

Also the thought of the whole team just sharing their favorite t.v shows.

Gravity Falls: If Mabel and Pacifica related I like things more in the treat realm. Maybe Pacifica is finally able to live away from her parents and wants to cut and dye her hair. And Mabel helps. Or Pacifica looking for a special craft supplies she knows Mabel would love.

For Bill and Ford however, I don't mind if things get mature or dark.

Hazbin Hotel: I'm really here for Angel, Pentious and Husk hanging out more. So either shenanigans. Or one of them gets into some sort of trouble and the other two are there in moments.

I will say I'm a really big Pentious fan in general.

Helluva Boss: Maybe Blitz showing Millie and Moxxie some old circus tricks?

As said, these are all just suggestions. Thank you in advance for the work put behind the fan work. I'm always pleased and thankful each year and I love this event in general. Both for creating and getting.

So art has slowed down lately. Working more on writing then visual art. Though I have still made some slight progress in some experiments. Mainly with paper mache.

It's been learning curve of course. But it was very helpful to have some really good guides to paper mache art from youtube. Look up Jane Sawyer Makes.

So the idea of one of the paper mache projects I'm working on right now is suppose to be a sort of monster plant. Very early stages right now. But yeah, used a box cut up in a way that it looks like a sort of more box like plant head. It has space where I can work inside the mouth area too.

I'm thinking of making the eyes out of Styrofoam egg halves and paper clay. And make the tongue out of apoxie sculpt? I might actually try making a paper mache tongue with some gardening wire first and see how that goes too?

The teeth I'm thinking paper clay too.

And then I thought what about a base. I think I'll get a plant pot of some kind at the dollar store, decorate that. Maybe makes some fake foliage/leaves to go with the plant. Give it more character to the final look.

I also am taking steps to start making stickers or keychains out of some art of mine. Depending on prices and how many I need to order might make one sticker design and one keychain design.

musekicker: (Default)

I have a few art projects I'm juggling currently. The cliff side house piece one of them. But also one experiment piece with multiple layers of paper, tearing some parts of that paper, and laying more. Repeat often until happy. I'm thinking also using some mixed media paper scraps, gluing those down in a ring shape and kind of going for a portal feeling?

I also have a piece I'm working on that is brought up to the main piece I have to work on as it's for a upcoming art show. The theme being based off of tarot cards. I went for the lovers card for my theme. And I thought that using some inspiration from the painting "The Kiss" by Gustav Klimnt.

Not in the image itself. More like some of the repeating details such as some color schemes and markings. The image I'm working on is having two people walking through the woods hand in hand.

I have the background base color down and some green down from grass. I need to put together some trees. I've cut out the trunks but need to glue down some squares in three different shades of yellow to make up the leaf clusters of the trees.

Really hoping to use the trees and bushes to help make some depth in the piece too.

This is the first time I've tried to somewhat emulate a existing artists style. So we'll see how this goes.

musekicker: (Default)

I've really been working on the cliff side houses piece since last time.

One big change I've done in the process of making this piece is making the decision that I'm no longer filling the whole of the upper space with buildings. I've glued down a bunch of the house bases I've put together onto the canvas. The shape that they are making is a better balance for the piece I feel. So I've painted the empty space around it for a sky.

Now that the paint has dried I started also the work of getting apoxie sculpt bit by bit onto the house bases. I started on covering a bit of one house at a time because I want to make sure I can add the details to the houses before the apoxie starts to harden. I'm personally loving the roof texture I made.

One fun tip I have learned from some youtube videos was to use a bit a water on a detailing tool or a finger (make sure wearing gloves. I mentioned it before but doesn't hurt to repeat safety tips.) to be able to smooth out the sculpt. One of the most helpful things I've learned about using this material really.

Besides apoxie sculpt adventures, I got out to the craft store. Gift cards I got in tow. And in the trip I got the paper clay I needed. So I have a few art experiment projects put aside that have been waiting for the paper clay as I needed it.

Mainly I'm thinking the mask decoration project. Though I'm also thinking of using a bit of the paper clay to make flowers and vines for the cliff side houses piece. Would bringing a slightly different texture to the piece I think.

Also creation related, I joined in on "get your words out" this year, so soon to be lots of writing talk too.

musekicker: (Default)
I'm not a BIG fan of horror. At least most of the time not of watching horror movies. I do have a odd amount of approximate knowledge of many horror movies only because I listen to a lot of funny podcasts that talk about movies. In fact, some of those podcasts are distinctly about horror movies. I couldn't tell you why I go about knowing about most horror movies that way.

Now, I say all that to mention that I don't talk about horror movies often. Which will make this subject odd for me.

But... Gremlins. You know, those little chaos creatures from two movies and a cartoon series (( which I've watched a bit of the series. I need to finish it at some point)) . And mainly, I'm thinking particularly of sort of "what if?" designs for the Mogwai and Gremlins themselves. Sort of like how in the second movie there will different kind of Gremlins because of the laboratory

I just want to design all sorts of Mogwai and Gremlins. Like a winter furred type, tiger striped? Things like that..
musekicker: (Default)
I'm terrible at taking pictures of my art. Both in the actual act of doing so and remembering to do so. Another thing I want to work on getting better at in the coming year. That said, I do want to occasionally shares some pictures of pieces I've done that I do have pictures of and am proud of.

My stuff this year leaned more towards mixed media collages style art. Mostly little scenes though I did do some abstract. Part of my branching out with style/materials was this piece

Fun fact, the grass part are made of rolled up paper tubes I made from old medication bags from the pharmacy, painted green. And The textured sky is pieces of left over mixed media paper glued down and painted blue. I really love running my hands over this piece.

musekicker: (obeythemuse)
Working with a new medium can make me anxious sometimes. More so it there are some health issues that can pop up connected to the medium (( important note, always read the labels on new materials just in case.)) . That all said, I experimented with apoxie sculpt as part of my newest projects that requires some sculpting.

Gloves were required so made sure to wear those. I was also worried about making sure I got the equal parts A and B correct and even then mixed it right. Not exactly the best at eyeballing amounts when I use polymer clay. But it looks like I succeeded.

I just prepared a small amount to attach to the experiment project and detail a bit. Just to see how it'll look when it's cures and see how it looks if I add more of the same material on top of the cured version.

Honestly, really proud of myself for pushing myself on two art related things I've dragged my heels on.
musekicker: (mercury)
So sometimes anxiety is a odd thing. For example, the case of the glue gun.

I've used a glue gun more then once. I've been burned by hot glue before and eh, is what it is with a glue gun sometimes. But up until today I've never used a glue when I was alone and in my own home. For some reason I was just really nervous about the idea and have dragged my heels on doing so for some time.

Maybe it was a good day. Maybe my wanting to grow my art in the coming year gave me that extra push I needed. But I finally did it.

It wasn't much to do. Glue some ball up tinfoil to a canvas (I had ideas for that I swear) and some eye shapes to a cardboard base mask project I have going on too. But still did it and I'm proud of that.

Now to experiment with the apoxie sculpt I got next.
musekicker: (obeythemuse)
(( technically this is the 4th of my art experiment journals. But the first one I'm posting up here in attempts to once again, use dreamwidth more. We'll see how that goes.))

So one of the presents I got this was the apoxie sculpt that I asked for. (( honestly my christmas list was a lot of art related things. I'm really hoping to grow my art and experiment more in the coming year.) . I am excited to experiment with it honestly and have a thought for a possible small piece to work on as a experiment.

The idea involves a smaller size canvas as this is more so a experiment. Best to start small. I will make a number of small house shapes out of cardboard (( maybe some cheap aluminum foil or newspaper wadded up as a sort of support for the cardboard too? Depends.)) Glue those down to the canvas and cover them with apoxie sculpt and add details to them ones by one. Then painting them after that.

I also like the idea of using crumbled up and piled on foil or newspaper to also cover (maybe with paper clay?) to be cliff sides/ledges look.

Related to that thought, something like that idea but instead of house shapes glue on open boxes cover with paper clay maybe. Ohh, and maybe make little figures for inside the boxes. That be interesting.

In a area of medium I don't work in much, I found out about nalbinding and I think this is possibly be my in to the fiber arts of sorts. I don't have a good track record with learning fiber arts well. I could learn it I think if I tried harder at it but it's a hard learning curve for me. Sewing mainly I want to get better at. Crochet I have a small bit of more experience with and am still trying to learn.

From what I seen in youtube videos nalbinding is in the crochet/weaving family? Fun fact, learned about nalbinding today from a fan fic I read. So will be experimenting with that too.

Less on the experiment side, the thought of cutting out a ballerina silhouette/shape out of gold colored paper. And making the outfit black, with a tutu formed out of small paper scraps that are glued down one by one.

As always, open to comments, questions, or just chatting about art.

musekicker: (Rarity)

Wonderminterplus on ao3 here, And it's that time of year. I'm never really one to have long letters for any exchanges like this. But I like to write them at least to give the one matched with me a idea of what I'm looking for. A hearty thanks in advance to whoever I'm matched to.

In any case, onto the letter.

General likes: aus ( stuff like "what if this episode had gone differently" or things more like "human au for a fandom that general doesn't have human characters), fluff, humor, interesting world building or magic systems.

Do Not Want: excessive gore, character death

Super Robot Monkey Team Hyperforce Go! : I will start out by saying that my main ship for this fandom is Gibson/Otto. It is not necessary to have that ship for me to enjoy anything in that fandom though.

As much as I love the teams general adventures, one thing I've always wanted more from the series was the team having more down time. You know, to hang out, do stuff in the city or around the robot. Just be.

Will love adventures too though if that is more the style of the writer.

Buzz Lightyear of Star Command: For this fandom I do have the ship of XR/NOS-4-A2. Either one sided or a au where it's mutual. If one sided, don't mind if it gets dark (as long as no character death) Other then that, space adventures and world building it also loved in this fandom.

Road Rovers: Once more on the subject of ships, I love Exile/Blitz.

Not ship related, either once again, adventures, or some more down time.

Maybe the team is watching some animal based show and have comments about the dogs acting. Or a debate on the best kind of dog treat?

I know that my letter may not be as comprehensive or put together as some peoples, but I really hope it helps. Once again, thank you in advance. I'm sure I'll love whatever is made.

musekicker: (mercury)

Happy Halloween season folks. Another year and another trick or treat exchange. Here's my letter for my requests.

Likes: humor, masquerade events, trick or treating shenanigans, fluff

Dislikes: death, gore.

Dead End: Paranormal Park: looking for just some silly Pugsly and Courtney shenanigan's (mainly Courtney lead because Courtney.) really with this fandom.

My Little Pony generation 4:  Friendship is Magic: Just s few possible ideas.

- Luna showing Twilight her dream date with Twilight in dreams?

- another Nightmare Night and Twilight and Luna or Discord and Pinkie doing something fun.

- Luna/Twilight or Discord/Pinkie having a kid?

Disney Fairies/ Tinker Bell Movies : Maybe something cute with Tinker Bell talking about new tinkering inventions and Terence could just listen to her talk about it all day. (also maybe Tinker Bell may have invented the fairy version of a tiny motorcycle.)

All of these are just suggestions and to get a idea of what I like. Either way, I'm always thankful to see what people work on and come up with. So a early thank you to whoever gets matched with me.

And I will do my best for the person I get matched with.

Happy Halloween everyone.
